Our Purpose
The purpose of the church is summed up in the commission Christ gave His disciples before He ascended into Heaven: "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28: 18-20)

The purpose of the church is not to entertain you, make you live a certain way, or force you to conform to men's ideas and teachings. The purpose of the church, according to Christ Himself, is to teach people what He has done for them, what He can do for them, and what He can do through them.
My friend, there is more to life than your job, your status, or your possessions. God, the Creator of the Universe, loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for you. He has a plan and a specific purpose for your life.
At Calvary Baptist Church, our desire is to help you understand and discover that purpose through the teaching of God's Word. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, preserved throughout the ages. It's simple - everything that is taught in our church flows from the pages of this Book.
